Chinese suppliers provided more than half of the EV batteries installed outside China from January to September 2026, according to SNE Research. CATL, BYD, Gotion, Svolt, CALB and Eve Energy together reached a 56.4% share, up more than 13 percentage points from a year earlier.

Their installations rose 24.7% to 426.7 GWh, ahead of the 19.7% growth of the overall market outside China.

CATL led with 143.7 GWh, up 46.7%, for a 33.7% share; SNE expects trial production at its Hungarian plant to strengthen its European supply. BYD was third with 45.9 GWh, up 66.8%, helped by vehicle exports that doubled. Eve Energy grew 214.6%, Gotion 153.8%, Svolt 102.3% and CALB 88.5%.

The combined share of LG Energy Solution, SK On and Samsung SDI fell from 38.2% to 26.5%, with installations down 13.5% to 113 GWh, mainly because of weaker North American demand. Panasonic slipped to 8.4%.
